VoLTE on RUTC50

I’ve recently gotten an RUTC50 set up for data and I’d like to use it
for two-way voice communication as well, preferably with VoLTE. The end
game is to have a wired ethernet connection between the device and a
phone (Yealink or similar, yet to be acquired) such that the phone
rings when there’s an incoming call to the number associated with the
SIM installed in the device, and establishes a connection when I answer it (not too much to
ask, I hope).

The incoming call settings in the web control panel permit a choice
between ignoring incoming calls and hanging up on them, but on the
other hand there are settings elsewhere in the menu hierarchy that
appear to pertain to VoLTE. What should I infer?

Has anyone on this forum attempted anything like what I’m describing?
If so, which comes closest to your experience: (a) I connected a phone
and it just worked, (b) I got it to work through some amount of
configuration and troubleshooting, or (c) I abandoned the attempt due
to lack of success and settled for a paid third party VoIP service.

Good afternoon,

A similiar question was answered here : TRB500 and VoLTE
And here : RUT-200 does it work with a VOIP phone

And here : VoLTE switch RUTx50

Overall in the device, VoLTE functionality is used to not lose internet connection, once you receive a phone call to the router.

You need to use an external Voip phone, as it operates independently from the router.

The RUTC50’s VoLTE feature is for enabling voice over cellular for the device itself but doesn’t directly support the use case of connecting a wired Ethernet SIP phone (like Yealink) to ring and answer cellular calls through the router alone. Achieving that will require setting up a VoIP gateway or third-party service that bridges cellular calls to SIP endpoints.

Arturas
