I recently bought the TRB500 specifically to use the 5G network.
I installed it with mostly factory settings and it just won’t connect to 5G no matter where I place it. The SIM works on 5G with other routers and my phone. There is not great reception but there definitely is. I get decent 4G speeds but 5G would be faster and I would like to use it otherwise I could have just bought a cheap 4G router
Also, I always get the message that there is a firmware update from TRB500_R_00.07.08 to TRB500_R_00.07.08.2 but I get the error “Firmware is not supported by this device” if I try to update.
Read this topic about the firmware update problem: Firmware not supported on this device (TRB500)
This also has a hint how to update the modem firmware.
Try to do them both (first the main firmware then the modem firmware)
I’m on firmware …08.02 and the modem firmware upload gives me an error. i see that the modem firmware is already quite old… is there potentially a new version other than the one in the post you linked?
I don’t know about that. Hopefully a Teltonika employee will answer it.
Note that for the modem firmware you need to go to the linked article itself, not to the link shown inside of that article text.
Yes.
When I first tried that it also issued an error but on the second attempt it worked.
It is apparently best to set the modem to 4G (instead of auto) before the update. I did that.
