I came across a very old RUT955 with Firmware Version 00.01.xx.x something. After I tried upgrading with RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5_WEBUI.bin the device is now bricked, but I can get into bootloader mode.
However, you can use FW on the bootloader menu to revive the device.
After itâs done I recommend you to go to the FOTA settings on the WebUI and to check if there is a recommendation to FW upgrade on the modem also. If yes, you can upgrade the modem FW with one click also.
FW on the bootloader menu doesnât work, I am getting this error:
Something went wrong during update. Probably you have chosen wrong file (too big or too small) or you were trying to update ART on device with unknown FLASH type (and size) which is not allowed. Please, try again or contact with the author of this modification. You can also get more information during update in U-Boot console.
As I already wrote I tried RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5_WEBUI.bin. And as I wrote in my first post the device is very old and had FW v.1.x on it, so it must be legacy.
I was indeed on /uboot.html because /index.html didnât work in the first place and only showed a âserver errorâ. Now after several reboots the /index.html worked and I was able to upload the firmware (as written above 00.06.09.5) and itâs alive again.
Now the firmware update page shows:
Bootloader version 1.0.0 [Update needed [Download]]
