It would be nice to have ntp updated to ntpsec if possible unless you have constrains ntpsec doesn’t support which feature you still need from original. Which is considered legacy ntp and you ship as /usr/local/sbin/ntp.
ntpsec issues with musl libc seem like solved last year.
While at it, please do not forget to provide both ntpq, ntpmon and ntpdate -utilities.
You don’t now have a good tool to observe ntp sync using cli, Seeing which servers/peers were preferred, observe and fix drifting and/or jitter issues. These two would make solving sync issues much easier and faster at least from my perspective.
Tthese utilities are available ntp and ntpsec. Latter reimplemeted both cli options and output match and there is no difference except minor changes in config files which drops some options that were dropped from ntpsec code also. Difference is that ntpsec implemented using python3 which now hard dependency. but as NTPD is also add-on package, that would just adding dependency have python3 installed first.
I put forward these improvement suggestions. Not something, had to be there immediately. Even though of course I wouldn’t complain if they were done already
To gracefully dismount plugged in USB Drives and shutdown (Turn Off) router before a planned power outage by the click / tap of a button or a text message.
Make login via HTTPS ports genuinely secure by default removing the need to mess about manually creating certificates, downloading them and importing them into browsers, what a carry on and completely unnecessary. Nobody should be doing this!!! You can securely log into ISP cheap and nasty freebies without having to do this.
remove the need for the addition of a password when sending text message commands via a specific trusted mobile number. All unrecognised, untrusted numbers requiring a password. Create a different password (not the same as routers login password) for sending text messages, as these passwords are human-readable (Shoulder Surfing) in the text that you send to the router. Someone can then use the password to get into the router and greater access to it.
Otherwise, thanks for producing some of the best mobile networking hardware available in the market and providing us with an actively supported community forum to discuss and solve any issues the users are trying to solve!
When you go to Services / VPN / WireGuard there should be “last handshake X seconds ago” indicator, as well as some way to show whether wireguard tunnel is up or not. Like green status for connected, yellow for idle, and red for disconnected.
Min. 1x 2,5/5 Gbps ethernet or 10 Gbps LAN/SFP+ for LAN
Min. x75 5G modem (eg. Quectel RM551E-GL)
Min 4x SMA ports for outdoor mobile antennas (for full 4x4 MIMO), maybe mmwave antenna/support / or integrated all antennas with strong amplification (gain 10+ dBi) and mmwave support in outdoor version
We have an ISP that broadcasts mmwave n258 band public.
Without mmWave, on the 5CA 5G NSA network with the N78 band we have been measuring 2,2 Gbps/190 Mbps over mobile phone for several years now but you don’t have a router that has 2,5 Gbps LAN
Thanks!
EDIT: Why can’t I create a new post on this forum? I can’t find the button to create a new post anywhere. Thank you…
