TRB501 unusable, modem crashes

I’m having major problems with my TRB501.

System FIrmware: TRB501_R_00.07.20
Kernel version: 5.4.197-perf
Modem Firmware: RG520NEBDCR03A01M4G

Problem 1:
The modem crashes after a few minutes, as described in many other forum posts.

Problem 2:
I don’t know if this is related to Problem 1. I have about 15 devices connected to the TRB501. Some devices randomly lose internet access. In the browser, I get the error message “ERR_TIMED_OUT”. Other devices work perfectly. The next day, the other devices stop working again and display the same error. After restarting the modem, the error is temporarily resolved. In Wireshark I see a lot of TCP retransmissions.

Problem/Question 3:
Why is the RAM capacity only listed as 177 MB? According to the specifications, the TRB501 has 512 MB of RAM. Furthermore, the occupancy rate is consistently around 80%. Is this normal behavior?

Unfortunately, the device is unusable for me in this state. I therefore request prompt assistance. I already sent a troubleshooting file via email on December 17, 2025, under reference “#16039-2”.

Hello deganl

What was the solution for you on this case?

I have also low memory shown (177MB instead of 512MB) but no modem crashes.

Additionaly: the download speed in bridge mode is reduced to 200 Mbit/s. Modem Update from A01 → A05 gets an unexpected error (I am in contact with Teltonika Support regarding this).

Thanks for your help

Regards

Frank

Hello Vilius

Thanks for your message.

As I wrote, no modem crashes so far.

But if the RAM ist really 177MB instead of 512MB I need a replacement anyway. What is the status in this fault?

Just for your information; I am also in touch with Julius J. regarding the speed problem / Modem Update problem / low RAM problem…

Regards Frank
