Hi,
I have a TRB140 set with the data connection off, just want to use sms.
(I can remotely turn it on/off by sms anyway).
I have configured services/mobile_utilities/sms_utilities to send e.g. status and iostatus when promped by sms from my phone.
When I send more than 3 sms in a row to the TRB140, the modem hangs, 2g3g4g leds start to blink together, following sms’s are ignored and it seems that modem is restarted.
I’m watching the log via putty. It seems that there is some issue with accessing modem sms storage, but I am not sure if this is the reason why it resets.
The firmware is TRB1_R_00.07.04.5, modem EC25EUGAR06A05M4G_BETA1108_01.005.00.000
Is there any fix for this? I there any maximal sms processing rate limit?
Thanks.
Could you clarify whether SMS messages are being stored in the flash memory or the SIM itself?
Could you check if the issue is also present when the device is registered on th 2G/3G network as well?
Which firmware version is in use on your device?
How fast are the SMS being sent to the device? Are all of them sent at the same time, or does some time pass between them?
Generally, it is considered that the modem can send around 1 SMS per second, however, when it comes to SMS rules, it also takes some time to execute them, so this time can be extended a little bit. Either way, the modem should not crash under these conditions, so please provide the requested information.
Thank you!
Hello,
The storage is set to Modem storage, I assume that it is the flash storage.
It seems that the issue is also present in 2G+3G mode.
The SMS are sent one ofter another, not at once. 3-5 seconds gap is betweet each SMS.
The firmware is TRB1_R_00.07.04.5, modem EC25EUGAR06A05M4G_BETA1108_01.005.00.000.
Regards.
The messages are not stored.
The logread shows the SMS removing from the memory after the action is done.

I will try another unit next week, to see a difference, if any.
