I got mine fixed with help from the Teltonika support. From kernel logs they saw messages like:
kern.err kernel: [ 296.348569] mt76_wmac 10300000.wmac: MCU message 08 (seq 3) timed out
which means that wireless driver is timing out. Driver can be reset with command:
This however did not fix the issue until I did soft reboot for the device. Result is that I was now able to fix this completely from the remote and not doing power cycle at the site.
There’s also package “Wireless Reboot” which will reset wireless driver when timeouts occur. I hva not tested it yet.
Update to this case on my side. Wifi clients gets disconnected randomly after couple of days uptime. I’m able to resolve it by resetting the driver from the command line and then soft rebooting the device. Wireless reboot package did not work, it just rebooted the device but wifi-clients were still all disconnected.
I would expect vendor to take some responsibility about this, as this definitely is some issue on the hardware or software or both. Hard to imagine you could say this device is ready for market if it’s usable only couple of days until it needs some attention manually to get back working.
