Rutx50 "slow download speeds"

Let me know what info you need to investigate further why I can’t get more than 300Mbit/s.

An open question to all other users, can you get more than 300Mbit/s download?

Orre compared with my iPhone 12 Pro in Turin, no. In the same place i got 750 mbit with my phone and with RUTX50 250/350 mbit but i think is just a question about the firmware

Yes I would like to read someone having better performance but the answers from Teltonika are just vague. Do Teltonika get. better performance in their test bed?

@Daumantas I think in my location happen this things UpperLayerIndicator sometime you see 5G connection on the phone event if there is no 5G band available so the modem works properly and show the correct network for now 4G+ LTE A in my location for now there isn’t 5G band

@Daumantas what 5G download speed do you get in your test environment?

Hello,

One instance of a speed test I found to a public server, the developers were able to reach download speeds of 920Mbps with the new 7.5 firmware version. The signal in this case was better than average, however, similar results should be possible in real conditions. This number is close to the limit of a single port on the RUTX50, so it’s likely, that with two devices running a speed test, the speeds would be bigger.
7.5 was released today, and it can be downloaded here: RUTX50 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Once you install it, navigate to Network → Firewall → General, and enable Hardware flow offloading. Let me know how the further testing goes.

Best regards,

Hi

Wow nice one, update went well!

I like that we now can see all active bands and the new presentation/layout improved a lot!

OK im at home with poor signal and I now get 400Mbit/s down, 100Mbit/s Up and ping around 13ms, so now thats on par with my other router and phone here, very pleased!

I will take the RUTx50-router to a place this afternoon to do tests where I get 1000Mbit/s with other devices.

Thanks

Orre

Glad to hear you are enjoying the update!

Hi

Back from some testing on the field. Where other devices get around 800Mbit/s the RutX50 only get 400Mbit/s.

Also when I got back and connect to my antenna on the roof the router does not do 5G anymore… I have tried toggling band settings but only get 4G…

Orre

Hello,

Could you post the output of the previously mentioned commands (QCAINFO…) while the device is not able to connect to 5G?
A screenshot of the Status → Network → Mobile page while the device does not connect to 5G would also be helpful in understanding the issue.

Best regards,

Its really getting annoying now, been on 4G for 4 days. I am in an area where 5G works with all other devices…

Hello,

Could you try blacklisting LTE B8 in Network → Mobile → General Settings? It seems like with the current bands the router is utilizing it is not possible to aggregate a 5G band.
When the general settings menu is opened, select the network type as 3G/4G/5G auto, and in band selection choose manual. Then select All bands from 3G and 5G spectrum, and in LTE select all bands except B8.
Let me know if the device connects to 5G then.

Best regards,

Ok that sen to have Worked well. I had to select 4g/3g and then back to 3G/4g/5g/auto and now it’s 5G NSA again. Thanks I will keep you posted how it goes…
