Hi,
I’ve seen the explanation in Enhance RUTX09 with USB Wifi-AP
So currently there’s no drivers and no configuration interfaces. I can build the drivers via SDK, right? But what about the ‘configuration interfaces’ - does that refer to the web interface pages? Then I would understand it.
Generally, I would ask you to reconsider the stance.
It would be really nice to have a module or a list of supported adapters as a field upgrade for it. Counter example are i.e. the super pricey alcatel switches where they also at some point introduced the option to have a USB Bluetooth dongle for the serial console. It’s not hurt them and has been a godsend in some cases.
It’s also not like we would buy one less device, it’s just about if this specific one will be used or collecting dust as a spare. Due to the GPS antenna it’s kind of the coolest of the bunch, so I’m trying to give it a good spot!
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. Your request is currently under review and analysis. Once the evaluation is complete, I will get back to you with further information, findings, or suggestions.
Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
Best regards,
Hi, thanks for your consideration.
I just wanted to let you know I was just drawing the network plans for the new office and I think I can repurpose the RUTX09 as the outbound router there. We still have some old WiFi AP that can do the WiFi part. It’s not as pretty as having a 100% like platform but it’s gonna do. (The general suggestion stands, I had rather ordered some good USB wifi (Alfa networks?) and run it all by same standard))
Hello,
Apologies for the delay.
To clarify, according to our R&D team, we officially do not support any third-party Wi-Fi adapters. Therefore, if you still have access to the old APs, we recommend utilizing them alongside the RUTX.
Best regards,
