After successfully configuring and testing a RUTX09 to remotely access devices via mobile internet and tailscale with a SIM card from German Telekom, I tried to put it into operation in France (where the devices are) with a SIM card from Orange France.
The SIM card is detected, but the Orange network refuses to connect.
I was setting the Interface mob1s1a1 APN configuration to “automatic” first, and then trying manually all the other Orange-related APN configurations with no success.
I was also reading the topic by corimartin Rutx50 - No Internet Connection with Orange.fr SIM which is somehow related to my problem, but already has already got network connection and just no internet.
He somehow managed to to get detailed APN settings from Orange France, which I could try, but I do not know, how access those on my RUTX09.
Hi Norbert. Finally it worked for us after switching the orange SIM into slot 1 and reset the router to factory settings, which meant primary go back to the standard IP-addresses and ranges. After restart we got network connection with data access with orange with “automatic” settings.
Hope this helps with your problem.
Yes, maybe my trial with Telekom SIM changed APN settings.
So I followed your advice and reset the router to factory settings.
But being back home in Germany when doing this, it could not connect to French Orange network (“No suitable cells in tracking area”), while roaming seems not possible in this state.
It seems I have to go somewhere in reach of Orange cells in France again to verify your proposal.
I will do this in the next few days and let you know about the result.
Sorry for bothering the Teltonika community with an issue with probably different cause.
When trying to use the SIM (issued by Orange France) in France, my RUTX09 reported that the connection was rejected by the network, and also when trying to use the SIM in two different smartphones.
So I will try to solve the issue with the network operator.
Finally I succeeded following the advice of corimartin. But before the SIM card (with contract) had to be activated via login on Espace client Pro, where you go to “Gérer vos lignes mobiles”. This brings you to the “Gestion Lignes Mobiles” page, where you click under “Cartes SIM” the field “SIM à activer”, which brings you to the SIM activation.
After this activation and the PIN selection with the default PIN “0000” and the PUK noted on the SIM card, the RUTX09 made the connection without any problem.
