RUTM30: cannot get IP connection (PAP authentication)

Hello,

I have an issue with my two RUTM30:

  • One is running firmware v7.19.4
  • The other one is running firmware v7.17.5

Both with modem RG520N-EB version RG520NEBDCR03A04M4G

I cannot get an IP connection (over 4G or 5G).

Status>Network>Mobile shows:

  • Operator State: Registered, home
  • Connection stage: Setup complete

But “Data connection state: Disconnected”

Using logread -f I got the following errors (not at the same time):

  • QMI call error, reason type INTERNAL: “PDN IPv4 call throttled” “Call failed”
  • QMI call error, reason type 3GPP: “Insufficient resources” “Call failed”

For reference:

My provider requires me to use IPv4 PDP, a specific APN, and PAP authentication.

The network is “Orange” (20801).

Is it RUTM’s fault or my provider’s?

Could you please confirm whether the SIM card works in another device (for example, your phone)? If so, are you able to establish an internet connection there?

Additionally, have you set the PDP type to IPv4 only and configured the APN manually? You can check this by navigating to Network → WAN and clicking Edit on your mobile interface.

Hello,

I can’t check whether the SIM is OK or not on another device/phone, I’ll try to next time I’m on site.

But note that out of the two 2 failing RUTMs, one is using a real physical SIM (v7.19.4) while the other one is using an eSIM (v7.17.5).

PDP is set to “IPv4” (only), also tried IPv4/IPv6 without any change.

Also tried to play with Network>Mobile>Connection settings (VoLTE, network type, and 5G mode), also no changes.

Note: In the mean time, since my original post, I’ve updated the v7.19.4 RUTM to v7.20 (latest firmware), without any resolution.

Thanks for re-opening the topic.

It took me time to gather the required information and I’ve sent (by e-mail to the provided hubspot e-mail address) them about 2 weeks ago but did not got any acknowledgment since then, and as this topic was closed in the mean time, I’m not sure if my message was received or got discard by some algorithm.
