RUTC50 - pi-hole howto?

Good morning all,

I have been trying to figure out how to get a pi-hole docker up-and-running on a RUTC50, but get lost on finding any documentation.

Is there anyone that could point me in the direction for RUTOS (currently RUTC_R_00.07.23) specific, or share how they went about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated :+1:

Anybody to lend helping hand please?

Try AdguardHome instead, it runs on openwrt. Search the forum for the howto.

Greetings,

We do not have documentation specifically for Pi-hole, so I’m unable to provide step by step setup instructions, as that falls outside the scope of our technical support. Could you please clarify what exactly is not working?

For setting up Docker on the RUTC50, you can follow the instructions provided here: Docker Configuration Example - Teltonika Networks Wiki
More information can be found here: RUTC50 Docker - Teltonika Networks Wiki

As @vogon mentioned, you can also find instructions for setting up AdGuard Home on our forum if that is of interest to you, for example: How can I install Adguard Home on the RUTC50?

Best Regards,
Justinas

Good evening Justinas and vogon,

Thank you so much for reaching out.

I was aware of AdGuard as an option, but chose to try for a Pi-hole solution due to more granularity and control, as well as easy implementation of DoH.

I do understand that specifically Pi-hole might be out of the scope, but I am looking for a more in-depth explanation of how to setup a Docker container on RutOS. Like pulling images from other repo’s (eg. Github) and what other configuration options are available (cloning, using an installer, Docker Compose) and what are the prerequisites (also on RutOS networking)?

Let’s be honest, running a Pi-hole container on a sturdy RUTC50 makes perfect sense if the hardware and OS support it

Kind regards,
Richard
