RUT955 switches OFF Wi-Fi Randomly

I had exactly the same issue described here:

FW version: RUT9_R_00.07.06.17
Previous FW version: RUT9_R_00.07.06.18

I tried to downgrade but nothing changes.

I have a RUT955 in my house with ZeroTier VPN services active.
The Wi-Fi is not stable at all. It suddenly and randomly disappears and I have to wait minutes (3-4)to have it automatically back.
I checked the log and there are no evidencies, it doesn’t seems a device reboot (nothing in the logs).
The Wi-Fi channel is auto.

The issue is the same descrived in the link above.
Of course all the connected smart devices in the house keep disconnecting, including alarm and domotics. So the risk is to have many services unavailable when needed.

How can be solved?

Thank you,
BP

Hello,

We recommend using the latest firmware version.

Once your device is updated, please try the following steps:

  1. Change the wireless channel
Go to Network → Wireless → Radio settings and select a less crowded channel.
You can check channel congestion in Status → Wireless → Channel Analysis.
  2. Check client distance and signal strength
If clients are located far from the device, a weak signal may cause intermittent disconnections.

Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Hi Marija,
the channel is set to AUTO. By the way 've also tried to manually change it to a less crowded channel in the past.
The distance between the router and the devices is about 5-6 meters.

I’ve experienced a lot of disconnection in the last days on the smartphone, because on such device the issue is more evident. In such cases, if I go to the wi-fi section on the smartphone and launch a network survey.. the Teltonika Wi-fi network is not present anymore.. I have to wait for one minute (more or less) to get it back again.

Any other ideas please?

Could you please confirm whether there were any improvements after selecting a less crowded wireless channel?

Additionally, could you please check and confirm that both WiFi antennas are properly connected to the router and positioned at a 90-degree angle?

Best regards,
