RUT955 problemns

Hello,

I bought a Rut955 in May, the last month i have been experiencing issues.
The mobile connection is lost from time to time, the signal LEDs indicates that there is a signal but i have no connection on RMS and no internet access on the clients connected to the RUT WiFi.

Also the WiFi is unstable, sometimes the WiFi doesnt show at all, and sometimes the WiFi is visible on the computer but I am not able to connect.

Only power cycle seems to fix the problem. Firmware is 07.04.4

Hello,

Apologies for a late reply.

Could you please clarify how often does this happen?

Are you able to access the WebUI of the device when the issue occurs?
If so, next time when the issue occurs, access the WebUI and ‘view’ the system logs in System → Administration → Troubleshoot. Copy latest logs, hide sensitive information like public IP addresses, serial numbers, etc, and post these logs here.

Additionally, please navigate to Status → Network → Mobile and share the information from the ‘Data transmission’ and ‘connection’ sections. You can hide the cell ID for privacy.

Kind Regards,

No I am usualy not able to access the WebUI, both mobile and WiFi is very unreliable.

I was however able to download troubleshoot file and logs last time it happened, it was only the WiFi that was connecting and disconnecting that time. What information in the files are needed?

Hello,

Could you please clarify how often does this occurs?

Also, have you tried restoring the device to factory settings or the bootloader procedure as described here?

First, please hide any sensitive information from the system.log file, such as public IP addresses, serial numbers, etc. Then, post the logs here.

Additionally, please share other relevant settings, like wireless, interfaces, mobile, etc.

Kind Regards,

No I havent tried factory reset, It happens more or less everytime it starts up.
The PC cant find the WiFi, or it can see it but it wont connect the connecting to WiFi just “spins” endlessly with not result.

Last time i changed the transmit power from 6% to 100%, then it worked. But the same problem is happening now, so i gues it didnt change anything.

Hello,

Could you please check if changing the operating frequency mode to legacy results in the same behaviour? It is available on the same page where you have changed the transmit power.

Also, could you please share the output of the ‘dmesg’ command after the issue occurs? Just in case, the command line instructions are available here (username root).

Kind Regards,

what dmesg command? I cant see any “dmesg commands” in the provided link

Hello,

Could you try disabling ‘Disassociate On Low Acknowledgement’ option in Advanced settings for your WiFi instance?

You have also mentioned that the situation improved when you increased transmission power. What is the environment like where the device is located? Are your devices close to RUT955? Are the WiFi antennas properly attached?

Other than that, I suggest trying the legacy mode to see if the issue reoccurs. You can also try changing the WiFi channel width to see if there are improvements.

Does this issue occurs only when this specific device is connected to RUT955 over WiFi?

Kind Regards,
