RUT950 losing connection to cell network part 2

Hello. I need to continue with this topic: RUT950 losing connection to cell network
It seems that the RUT950 is not providing internet connection ONLY to my computer. I tested the router in perfect 4G network with the same result: all other devices get internet connection (wi-fi) except my computer.
The computer CAN connect to RUT950 wi-fi, but does not get any internet and cannot access the router admin interface using wi-fi. Only cable.

Hello,

Are you having trouble logging in through the WebUI, or are you completely unable to access the WebUI page in your browser?

Could you try restoring the device to factory defaults in System → Backup and see if you can connect from the PC via WiFi then?

Kind Regards,

I am completely unable to access the WebUI page in my browser using wi-fi.
But that is not bothering me much since I can access it using the cable. The main problem is that the icon in right lower corner in Windowd shows wi-fi internet connection but there is none. Other devices connected to the router at the same time have internet connection.
It seems like the router is restricting internet connection to 1 device. Is there a setting for this?

Hello,

It may be an IP block on your WiFi interface due to numerous failed login attempts.

Please, connect to RUT950 via ethernet cable and navigate to System → Administration → Access control → Security tab and remove IP blocks.

If this does not help, please, try restoring the device to factory defaults as mentioned previously.

Let me know if this helps.

Kind Regards,

Yes, there were IP blocks I removed. I think that solved it, since I can access the webUI via wi-fi now.
One more thing is that I cannot get proper (there is something but even simple pages fail to load completely) internet connection in weak signal place. The values are:
Band GSM 900, Network 2G (Edge) and signal strenght -79 (or -84).
I get 3 (or 2) green LEDs for signal, yet the red LED is randomly blinking.
Using the same SIM, on the same spot with consumer grade routers ASUS 4G-N12 or TP-LINK TL-MR6400 I always get internet connection. Slow, but I get something proper. RUT-950 gives me no connection.

Hello,

Glad to hear that you are able to access the device now.

Regarding the connectivity, it is no wonder that there are issues because the device is connected to 2G. First, please, make sure that both antennas are properly attached. Then, navigate to Network → Mobile and select Network Type as 4G only. Does the device connect to 4G network then? If not, try moving the device to a different location for testing purposes.

Kind Regards,

Hello. Yes, if in proper GSM signal everything is fine. In poor signal conditions (2G) routers ASUS 4G-N12 or TP-LINK TL-MR6400 outperform RUT-950. Disappointing.

Hello,

If you are experiencing issues with your mobile signal, consider using an antenna with higher gain. Also, it the device is stationary and the location of the cell tower is known, you can consider using a directional antenna. This would provide you with the best signal, but the antenna will need to be aligned with the cell tower.

If you decide to use a third-party antenna, I would suggest checking our wiki article here for guidance and compatibility information. Poynting antennas are a popular choice for use with our devices, and you can explore their options for our RUT 950 router here.

Kind Regards,
