RUT241 eSIM does not connect to the Internet via WAN

Hello,

please, our RUT241 industrial 4G eSIM™ router is unable to connect to the internet via WAN. It connects with a physical SIM, but to insert an eSIM, WAN is required. I could not find a connect via Wifi function.

I connected RUT241 (192.168.1.1 / RUT2M_R_00.07.11.2) via Ethernet cable (in good condition, WAN slot) to the router (TPLink, 192.168.1.10, LAN slot). The router assigns an IP using DHCP and recognises the connected device. RUT241 receives its IP, but is still not connected to the Internet. Other devices connected to the router via DHCP are accessing the Internet.

On RUT241, I have deactivated

  • all restrictive firewall rules
  • SIM and eSIM auto APN (advice found on the internet)

to no avail.

By CLI, RUT241 does not ping its router 192.168.1.10.

root@RUT241:~# ping 192.168.1.10
PING 192.168.1.10 (192.168.1.10): 56 data bytes
^C
--- 192.168.1.10 ping statistics ---
9 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

No CLI on TPLink, but on the same network, no response to another PC’s 192.168.1.1 ping.

Could you help us?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

The first thing to try is changing the RUT241 LAN IP to a different subnet, for example, 192.168.2.1. To do this:

  1. Navigate to Network → LAN.
  2. Click Edit on the LAN interface.
  3. Change the IP to 192.168.2.1 and save the settings.

Regarding connecting via wireless WAN to your DHCP server, this can be achieved as follows:

  1. Navigate to Network → Wireless.
  2. Use Scan 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
  3. Select and join the required wireless AP.

If you have additional questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to help.

Best regards,

many thanks!
just change the LAN IP address

thanks in advance!
