RUT 901 stuck on modem firmware upgrade

I’m taking to use a brand new RUT901. Upgraded device firmware successfully to the newest 7.11.3. Unfortunately when upgrading the modem firmware from server, the device stuck to “upgrading firmware, please do not power off”.

Logs and symptoms are quite similar to other forum case RUT901 Modem firmware update stuck . I mean the errors timed to beginning of the upgrade and usb reconnections, and then no additional logs related to upgrade after that. Additionally I noticed that the command “top” shows that gsmd is using 92-95% cpu constantly. This has been going on for about 15 hours.

Should I just power cycle the device as the resolution was on the other thread, or do I need further debugging? Unfortunately I do not have access to the device currently during my work day.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, the first step to address this issue would be to perform a hard reboot by unplugging and re-plugging the power cable. If that’s not possible, you can use a reboot command via the CLI or perform a reboot from the WebUI.

After rebooting, please check if the modem upgrade has proceeded successfully. If there are any issues with the modem after the reboot, feel free to reach out, and we’ll assist you further.

Best regards,
