Hi there, I have 3 x fm1110 and all cars just lost tracking functions from Jan 1st, 2025. Getgps returns No GPS signal message. What is going on here? I can see my position on smartphine, so gps signal is for sure there. Aby suggestion?
I also experienced the same thing, for this problem we just need to update the firmware, but how to update the unit if the unit is far from us, maybe there is an SMS command that we can use?
Hello @chrzesm, @joko.santoso,
Welcome to Teltonika Community Forum!
Brief information about the issue: The first GPS rollover was encountered in 2019. We had such an issue resolved by adjusting the firmware. Devices that are not using the latest firmware will encounter such issues this year.
The information must be requested by sms command (IMEI, firmware version):
getver
If the firmware version is lower than the provided version below then Firmware update must be performed with rollover fix.
FM11.Ver.01.27.32.Rev.04
For firmware update - Fota desktop application is required.
Suggesting you coordinate with your Sales Manager so that we can provide you with the necessary Files for updating the device’s Firmware. If you don’t have any contacts with our Sales managers, please contact them on our official website https://teltonika-gps.com/ and click on the “Contact Us” button. When you click, please fill out the form and submit it.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Patrick
Thank you for the reply. I have applied via contact form. Wonder why don’t you publish the firmware to be available on spot, since this is so crucial and dramatic issue for all users? I have all my users and clients complaining now and cannot access the pill immediately, so I need to wait for your response, which takes time. It would be also great to notify your client about the issue earlier to be aware. We purchased lots of FM devices years ago, so I am not in parament contact with you now. Such a surpise is always a pain
This is the same issue that occurred in 2019. This morning, we received the updated firmware mentioned above, but this type of update is problematic because the devices are distributed all over the world, making it physically impossible to update them manually via USB. If you update the tracking devices remotely with this firmware, all the settings (APN, IP, etc.) are lost - we have tried. I don’t understand why such updates aren’t designed to preserve the settings of the tracking devices.
What, all settings are gone?? No, no, no, this is a killer guys!
Now I understand why we have stopped using Teltonika devices, however many of them still in our system
Unfortunately, yes. However, you will still be able to program the device back via SMS. This means you’ll need to send an SMS for each parameter separately. We have over 70 such devices, and sending an SMS to each one individually will take a lot of time and cost a significant amount (our operator charges for SMS). I really don’t understand, @Teltonika, why such scenarios aren’t considered. Why is it necessary for some hardware to have an integrated time/date limit?"
That’s a nightmare scenario my friend :-(. It seems Teltonika still does not consider its clients as service providers, but rather individuals with single unit and direct access. This is simply wrong, period. Unfortunately my reputation vs my clients is suffering big time now since I cannot react to my clients in a professional way as I wait for Teltonika’s permission to have a new firmware, this is nonsense :-(.
Good point! While I understand this might violate the Community rules, I’m sharing the link to the mentioned firmware regardless. I hope @Teltonika recognizes that we are service providers under significant customer pressure, and for us, time is money.

Exactly so, we are loosing money guys! Thank you David for your trust on me. I need to rescue my reputation now, that’s my priority. Some clients have critical businesses related to gps tracking as a source of their invoicing.
Unfortunatelly I have some FM1010s and FM1202s. Do you know if they are affected as well?
I understand the situation on your end, which is why I provided the link. Our call center is burning out and we are also still waiting - replacing/SMS programming 80 devices is simply not feasible. It is unacceptable for a device to have a built-in hardware time/date limit—this is the same issue we encountered in 2019.
Such limitations undermine the very core of our operations as tracking providers, where our customers expect seamless 24/7 service without interruptions. While I understand that occasional failures can occur, a hardware date limit is entirely unacceptable. It’s comparable to purchasing a car that stops functioning after January 1, 2025.
Last year, we lost a customer with a fleet of 150 vehicles due to similar software issues. Problems like these have a direct and significant impact on our business.
Hello @David,
To clarify this, it would only occur if the firmware middle versioning number (XX.XX.XX) is changed - CFG will be set to default, in this case, you need to have the configuration of the device.
Lastly, only the devices that are not using the latest firmware will encounter such issues this year. So if the device was already updated on the latest Firmware version it should not be affected.
Kind regards,
Patrick
@ Patrick_Sangalang. How do I save the configuration if the vehicle is on the other side of the world?
Hello,
It is possible to download the Configuration File through the Fota Desktop Application. So you may download the Configuration File of the device that you want to have.
Kind regards,
Patrick
David, that’s the point. Why we have been surprised with this, while Teltonika knows about the issue for 5 years??? For last days I have been trying to explain that probably Russia is jamming the gps signal (I am based in Poland), however I was completely wrong and look stupid now in front of my clients. When I realised that this is only Teltonika’s units, I started asking around. Why Teltonika was quiet and I need to do ex-post actions to understand the issue??? B2B is about trust, it must be taken into consideration when you setup your suppliers. You can buy cheaper and safe some money at front, however if you do not have a reliable partner, your all effort can be easily destroyed, period. I am so disappointed now!
@Patrick_Sangalang you have deleted your reply.
My reply to deleted reply: The fact that if the device is already on the highest version and that this update will not destroy its settings is nonsense. Example: if I skip a software version on my phone, the latest version will not destroy my settings and this should be done here as well.
As always, we will not solve this problem either.
Please understand at least once that we are dealing with tracking devices, that there are devices all over the world.
Hello,
GPS Rollover issue, the affected devices were Legacy devices such as FM11XX and FM12XX which are old devices (5 to 10 years back) that were already End of Life.
Yet we are providing you solutions to help how to deal with such scenarios.
Kind regards,
Patrick
Yes, but the rollover was in 2019 and the next one should be in 2035, so why your devices are down now?
