Hi,
I am trying to connect to 5G with the TRB500, but the device is just connecting to 4G.
I updated the firmware version from the server to TRB500_R_00.07.12
I updated the internal modem firmware to RG501QEUAAR12A11M4G_04.200.00.000 like described in TRB500 modem update proceedure
Here are some outputs:
root@TRB500:~# gsmctl -A ‘AT+QENG=“SERVINGCELL”’
+QENG: “servingcell”,“NOCONN”,“LTE”,“FDD”,262,02,XXXXXX,330,100,1,5,5,B15A,-116,-9,-86,13,0,-,8
root@TRB500:~# gsmctl -A ‘AT+QCAINFO’
+QCAINFO: “PCC”,100,100,“LTE BAND 1”,5,330,-114,-9,-85,7
From the output, it appears that the signal strength is very poor, which is likely the cause of the issue you are experiencing. When the signal strength drops below -100 dBm, a stable and reliable mobile connection cannot be guaranteed.
Please ensure that the original mobile antennas are properly connected to the RUTX50 at a 90-degree angle. Additionally, you may want to consider using a higher-gain antenna. If the device is stationary and the location of the cell tower is known, a directional antenna could be a good option. This type of antenna provides the best signal but must be properly aligned with the cell tower for optimal performance.
Once the signal improves, I recommend replicating the issue to see if the situation changes.
Additionally, please check the following:
PDP Type: Navigate to Network → WAN → Mobile Interface → Edit and ensure the correct PDP type is selected.
APN Settings: Verify that the correct APN is being used, and try setting it manually if necessary.
