Hello,
Thank you for getting in touch.
I can only connect via Wifi - that I connect to the router via 192.168.1.1 - is that WebUi?
My mac dont have ethernet.
I have rebooted the router via the web platform and in the meantime also via the plug button on the front of the router.
I have checked it with Safari and firefox.
I always get the same message ‘Invalid username and/or password! Please try again.’
192.168.1.1 is the default IP address for the router’s WebUI.
Could you please try resetting the router to factory defaults as described here? After resetting, try logging into the WebUI using the username “admin” and the password provided on the back panel of the router.
Power off.
Needle button on the front of the device.
Firefox
Password from bottom of device
admin01
Does not work: Invalid username and/or password!
Please try again.
I have tried this several times while waiting for your reply.
The reset button should be pressed for at least 12 seconds (by default), and the device will perform a factory reset and reboot. The signal strength LEDs indicate the elapsed time while holding the reset button. The start of the factory reset will be indicated by the flashing of all 6 signal strength LEDs.
Could you please confirm if, after performing these steps, the LEDs behave as described above?
Yes, they have done so.
have done it twice
Did not work.
Additional information
I have not inserted the SIM card.
Nord Vpn is switched off
firefox does not accept the router connection
ignore this - router page is established
I have redone it twice in response to your previous question.
firefox quit.
Restarted.
dialled into the router again.
what amazes me is that the router does not offer _2g despite the factory setting - only _5g
Hello Marija,
I assume you cannot log in to solve the problem from your location.
Can you please give me a repair address in Germany where I can send the device after my return from Spain.
This is the best way to get the device working again.
I suspect that I am not the only one with this problem.
As it is a software problem, this is beyond my responsibility.
I look forward to receiving your address and wish you all the best.
With kind regards
Krishna Lahoti
Hello Marija,
I paid very close attention to everything yesterday.
Switched off the VPN.
Entered the password via c+p and single entry.
I reconnected to the router again and again.
Restarted Firefox several times.
Tried Safari.
Changed the password from admin1 to admin01.
I have just tried it again.
Please send me a repair mail address.
I will then send in the router in May.
That’s the only option, isn’t it?
Regards
If you are unsure whether the device has been successfully restored to factory settings, you may try performing a firmware upgrade via the bootloader menu. This feature allows you to update the firmware and reflash the device, which may help resolve the issue.
You can find step-by-step instructions for upgrading RUTX12 firmware via the bootloader menu here: RUTX12 Device Recovery Options
After completing the upgrade, please check if you can log in to the device using its unique default password.
If the issue persists, please let me know, and I will send you a form for private communication.
You realise that I am an amateur.
I understand it technically - but not completely.
I am not a system technician.
I don’t have an Ethernet connection on my mac.
As I mentioned yesterday, I have an Amazon Fire Stick with Hdmi and Ethernet connection that fits my Mac.
But this is not intended for this at all.
If my Mac gets damaged, that’s my problem.
Does it work with Mac OS 15.1?
I think it’s better if you do that, don’t you?
Regards
Unfortunately, we can only accept the device for repair or replacement if it is a hardware issue and none of the recovery options have helped. Additionally, if the issue is confirmed to require device repair, we cannot process it directly via the forum—you should contact your reseller for further assistance.
I still recommend trying to access the bootloader menu, as it should completely reset the device, allowing you to log in with the default password. Is there any Windows PC available on which you could try this? Or perhaps it’s possible to get an Ethernet adapter for your Mac?
