Hi All,
I need some help. I’m using a RutX12 as an LTE gateway for a remote site. After relocating the router, the onsite person reported that the power connector broke off and slid inside the device without any excessive force. Upon inspection, it was found detached from the solder points on the board.
Since RMA wasn’t an option, I had it soldered back. The router powered on, and the BGP session normalized, but it shut down again after a few minutes due to a short circuit detected by the 12V Meanwell power supply. The technician suspects the initial damage caused an internal short, rendering the device unusable.
I’m truly disappointed that an industrial-rated product has such a weak, delicate power connector. If this were installed in a mobile application, I doubt it would survive. I’ve purchased several of these routers for other sites, and now I’m concerned about their build quality.
I also found a similar issue reported here: RUTX11 broken power connector, showing that another device experienced the same problem.
My only option now is to get this repaired. Can I send it back to Teltonika for repair? If so, how and where should I send it, and what would be the cost for such a repair?
Thanks.
