Can’t set up Virtual Network IP Address on OpenVPN configuration

Hello,

I am trying to configure my Teltonika RUT955, setting up OpenVPN as a server,

When trying to configure the Virtual network IP address to be 10.20.0.0/24 but it seems that no matter what Network IP address or subnet I try, I see the save error. tried any kind of IP address, nothing worked out.

The device is updated (both firmware and internal modem)

It is important to note that someone has encountered this issue before and opened 2 threads about it but there was no one addressed the issue:

Thanks.

Yeah, good luck

Well, I have found a workaround, configuring the IP address straight from /etc/config/openvpn will take effect, but it’s still frustrating…

Hello @Dan1312,

Could you please specify which firmware version is currently installed on your device?

Best regards,

Hello, Dan,

I’ve tested this on one of my devices and was not able to replicate your issue. This could be related to migrating from an older firmware to a newer one whilst keeping the settings, causing issues like these in the process.

My recommendation would be to first make a backup of your current configuration: RUT956 Configuration Backup - Teltonika Networks Wiki (Sending you a newer device link, since the old guide is on legacy firmware)

And afterwards, factory reset the device by holding down the reset button for ~12-13 seconds and then releasing. Attempt to reconfigure your OpenVPN config afterward.

Regards,
M.
