When updating the firmware to 07.07.01, the led for sim2 lights up instead sim1 on a RUTXR1.
The led for sim1 doesn’t seem to work at all.
Also, when using OPKG to install packages, the distfeeds.conf has been moved into a seperate folder, so when doing a opkg update, i cant install packages like python3-pip.
The solution is to move the distfeeds.conf file back, and then run opkg update.
Also, when changing the IP via uci, my client devices keep on getting their old ip address via dhcp. The solution is to remove the dhcp.leases file and reconnect.
And last: i don’t know if this is a mistake on my side or some kind of protection, but sometimes my automated provisioning system gets blocked from logging in via SSH after a failed attempt. I didn’t have this issue with older firmware.
Besides this, i really like the RUT devices and firmware! We have about 100 devices running in the field ( mostly X11 ), and never experienced any issue for years!
There haven’t been any changes to the LEDs in the firmware you mentioned. However, you can try disabling and enabling the LEDs through the WebUI. Simply go to System → Administration → General.
Regarding the opkg changes, they were intentional and have been in place since version 07.06.
When using uci commands to make configuration changes, you need to commit the changes with uci commit and restart the affected services. For example, use /etc/init.d/network restart.
Regarding the LED’s, i tried that but the lights still don’t light up correctly. I think this might be a small firmware issue.
About OPKG, is there any reason as to why this change was made? I need some packages from the distfeeds repo, so i just reverted the change.
Can this affect the stability in any way?
For the network settings: i reboot the entire router after all changes have been made. But it is no issue since in my scripts i just added a line to remove the dhcpd.leases file.
