I was wondering about handling of a custom local.conf file I need to add to enable the ZeroTier multipath handling – can it be added to the RUTX filesystem and will it be deleted during the firmware update?

If you save the file under /etc/, it will not be wiped after a firmware upgrade (with the settings on) or a reboot, as it will be stored in the device’s flash memory, the exact directory also needs to be added under /etc/sysupgrade.conf for it to be preserved.
