I have been trying to setup a RUT140 as a gateway to a remote network.
The case is different than the standard setup as the router should function as a gateway only.
So the router should get a DHCP address on WAN and i want to be able to access the network connected to WAN via zerotier remotely. The use case is as a gateway to a remote customer network for remote troubleshooting of PLC’s.
However i simply cannot figure out how to set this up in the router. Is the setup possible in the webinterface or do i need to write iptables rules manually?
To enable access to the WAN network connected to RUT140 via ZeroTier, you need to configure a route on ZeroTier that directs traffic towards the WAN network via that specific RUT140.
Additionally, on RUT140, you should check the firewall zone settings by editing the ZeroTier zone and ensuring that traffic between ZeroTier and the WAN zone is allowed in both directions.
To better understand the issue, it would be helpful to see your current configuration. If possible, please share a network topology diagram with IP addresses and ports marked to help diagnose the problem more effectively.
In this case, make sure that my previous two points are configured properly:
Configure a route in ZeroTier to direct traffic for 192.168.33.0/24 through the specific RUT140 device.
Adjust firewall settings on RUT140 by checking the firewall zone settings (Network → Firewall → Zones). Edit the ZeroTier zone and allow traffic to flow both ways between ZeroTier and the WAN zone. So something like this:
