WLAN Clients can't connect after update to RUTX_R_00.07.09

Urgent:
after updating our RUTX11 from RUTX_R_00.07.08.3 to RUTX_R_00.07.09 all WLAN Clients on the RUTX11 AP cannot connect anymore. Our Remote Observatory is not controllable any more.

We use an AP (SSID: Astr…) and a Client (SSID: Tran…) as upstream to the Internet. After upgrade, all Wireless clients in the 2.4GHz lost their connection permanent. The upstream works. Switching on/off or reboot does not solve the problem. A rollback to the latest working firmware is not possible, because it says, that the config cannot be kept.

I was able to transfer some of our devices to 5GHz, but our main controller is lost.

What can I do?

Maybe this fix (mentioned in the release notes) caused this.

Today I did the WLAN config new, but with no success.

  1. Configure AP (line 1) with SSID “Astr…” with both 2.4 and 5 GHz. All three clients got connected.
  2. Configure SSID “Trans…” in Client Mode, and got upstream connection to the Internet via this WLAN
  3. ISSUE: 2.4GHz Client got lost from AP, Client count is 2 instead of 3, Signal strenght decreased to 0%

This Configuration has worked with RUTX_R_00.07.08.3 over month.

What is your router’s main internet source? Mobile, ethernet, wifi? Are you using STA+AP?

It is WIFI with SSID number 2 (STA), mobile is backup.
Yes I am using STA + AP as seen in my screenshoot.

Is is possible that someone of teltonika can reproduce this behavour.

Dear @starhopper,

Thank you for your patience regarding this matter. I have checked our systems and confirmed that this issue has been duly registered. Our engineering team is actively working on a resolution, and we expect to address this problem in the upcoming software updates.

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your understanding,

Kind regards,
Lukas

Hi, i have the same problem. What about a workaround, until a new firmware will be released?

Hello,

I would recommend using version 07.08.3 for now if you haven’t updated to 07.09 yet. If you have already updated and there are no significant configurations that would be affected, consider downgrading the device. The issue is known and will be resolved in the upcoming updates. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Kind regards,
Lukas

Thanks for your reply, it is good to hear, that you will fix this issue in upcoming releases. A downgrade is not good, because a dialog windows says that I will lost all my config, and I guess I lost my device. It is hundred kilometers apart.

@LukasV Curious if this known issue still exists in firmware 7.09.3 ?

same here. I had the same issue. Upgraded to .09 tonight. i also changed from “client” to “Multi AP” for my connection to home AP.

still the same issues when the connection is off, 2.4Ghz has signal and I can connect my iphone

but when its on - signal drops to 0 - and I can no longer connect to the RUT_2Ghz wifi from my phone
