Wireless Client

Hello
I use a Rut955 in my motorhome. Since I often go to the same campsites, I would like to create the individual WiFi networks as clients so that I only have to switch on the respective WiFi and passwords from the previous visit are adopted.
I currently have a router from Alpha Networks so this is possible, just like in every smartphone.
When I try to create a second client under wireless SSID, I get the following error message
"2.4GHz radio(s) already have one client or Multi AP. To specify few possible APs for client use single Multi AP. "
can you help me with this???
Firmware: [RUT9_R_00.07.06.16]
Greetings Arno

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

In the case you’ve described, the Multi AP function is what you should use. This feature allows you to configure access to multiple wireless access points from a single page without needing to create separate AP clients for each WiFi network.

If you already have one Client AP configuration, you will need to delete it and set up a single Multi AP configuration. For this:

  1. Go to Network → Wireless.
  2. Click “Add”.
  3. Select Mode: Multi AP and choose either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz for the radio.
  4. At the bottom, you can add the WiFi SSIDs and passwords for each of the networks you want to connect to.

For further details and a configuration example, you can refer to the following link: RUT955 Multi AP Setup Guide.

If you need further assistance or have any additional questions, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Hello
Thanks again for the quick help, everything worked.

Can I ask another Question???
I query the status of the Relay via Modbus.
Register Address 202.
And I also switch this Relay via Modbus.
After about 30 seconds the Relay switches again.
This happens immediately when I use the Relay Services
Input/Output/Status
Switch status from closed to open, the Relay jumps back after 30 seconds.
Is this normal???
Or can I set that somewhere??
Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything in the manual.
Greetings Arno

Hello Arno,

For monitoring the relay status via Modbus, you should use Register number 203 with a Register count of 1. I have tested the scenario you described, and I didn’t encounter any issues – when the relay is switched to “Closed” using a Modbus request, it stays closed and does not revert to the previous state (closed) when I change it via Input/Output → Status.

It’s possible I may have misunderstood your description. Could you clarify if the relay is switching back unexpectedly when you use Modbus? If you want the relay status to change automatically from “Closed” (1) to “Open” (0) after a certain period of time, you can configure this behavior using Modbus Alarms. More details on setting this up can be found here: Modbus Alarms Configuration.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or have additional questions.
