I have always connected my Teltonika to Wi-Fi and used it as a modem. However, I would now like to connect my Teltonika directly with the LAN cable. This has turned out to be more complicated than I thought. I have been trying for hours to find a solution. Unfortunately, I can’t do it on my own. I am using Teltonika Rut950 LTE. I have plugged the LAN cable into the WAN port. Thank you.
Greetings Yassin,
Thank you for your message.
To get your RUT950 connected to the internet, here’s what I suggest:
- Using the WAN port (best for internet access):
- Plug the Ethernet cable from your internet source (modem or ISP router) into the WAN port on the RUT950.
- Make sure the WAN interface is set to get an IP automatically (DHCP), unless your ISP gave you a static IP.
- Connecting to an existing LAN network:
- Use a LAN port instead of the WAN port if the router needs to join an existing network.
- Disable DHCP on the RUT950 to avoid IP conflicts with other devices.
- If needed, assign a LAN IP in the same subnet as your existing network.
A couple of tips to avoid common issues:
- Don’t use the WAN port if you’re trying to connect to an existing LAN—it won’t communicate properly.
- Make sure DHCP is off on the LAN side when joining another network to prevent IP clashes.
Let me know how it goes!
Kind regards,
V.
