Which wires to power a TSW202?

Hello,

I’ve just received my first TSW202 unit.

I also have a MeanWell NDR-2040-48 power supply. This NDR-2040-48 unit has a 240W/48V capacity which seems to suit TSW202 requirements and ease DIN rail mounting.
This power supply has a DC terminal block with which I can use a screw driver to attach a power cable of any size.

On the other hand, my TSW202 has a power socket, which, according to PR320EUA, EU 2-pin power supply, seems to require ‘cord end terminals’.

Is it possible to find either:

  1. such cord end terminal I could scree on a compatible power cable
  2. or find a power cable with two cord end terminals on one, and open ended on the other end.

Best regards

Greetings,

To answer your question:

  1. Yes, you can absolutely find compatible cord end terminals, known as ferrules, from various third-party manufacturers for the cable size you’re using. These can be crimped onto your cable ends for a cleaner, more secure connection.
  2. That said, ferrules aren’t strictly necessary for powering the TSW202. You can use bare cable ends directly. The TSW202’s power socket allows you to lift the small clips inside the connector with a screwdriver, insert the stripped cable ends, and then release the clip to securely hold the wire in place.

To sum up, using ferrules is generally recommended for tidiness and preventing wire strand fraying; however, bare wires are perfectly fine as long as they’re properly stripped and secured.

Best regards,

Thank you very much for replying.
Now it’s much clearer for me.
