WebUI problem after upgrade

Hello,

I updated a RUT956 from 07.10.2 to 07.14.
After updating the firmware, the web interface is very slow, and I’m ultimately unable to connect to it via IPSEC VPN.
I have no access problems via SSH.
I don’t know if there’s a setting I need to change in the configuration.
Sincerely,

Hello,

If possible, could you please try updating the device without selecting the “Keep settings” option and check if the issue persists?

To avoid losing your current configuration, you can create a backup file before the update. Instructions are available here: How to Create a Backup – RUT956 Maintenance

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hello,
I don’t have physical access to the router.
If I run a RUT directly in 7.14, I have no problem.
It’s the migration from 7.10.2 to 7.13/14 that’s causing me problems.

I saw that I had quite a few connection errors.

I think, I have a problem of firewall, because in local mode no problem.
Is there a way to see firewall log?

Hello @Olivier,

Could you please let me know what firmware version is currently running on your device? If it’s 7.14, which was withdrawn, I’d highly recommend updating to 7.14.3, following the installation instructions provided on the wiki page here (you can skip them if you’re upgrading from 7.13.X). Also, reboot the device after completing the update.

Furthermore, could you confirm which IPsec encryption method is being used? If it’s one of the stronger options (like AES 256 GCM), try enabling the IPsec software flow offload option, which you’ll find under Network → Firewall → Settings. Alternatively, you might consider switching to ChaCha20 encryption, which can improve performance on some setups.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Best regards,

I was with the firmware V7.10.2 and I upgrade it on V7.14.3.
I try your 2 options :

  • I put IPSEC software
  • I try chacha20

Hello,

I just wanted to follow up here and ask if the initial issue with reaching the WebUI via the IPsec tunnel was resolved after changes were made.

Best regards,
