WAN und WAN6 - why that?

In WAN interfaces of a RUT360 I see WAN und WAN6

I configured WAN and see that the interface get a IPv6 adress - why is there a seperate WAN6 interface?

Hello,

WAN is used for IPv4 connections, and WAN6 is used for IPv6 connections. By keeping IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity on separate interfaces, it becomes easier to control and configure them with more precision. This is particularly helpful for networks and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that support both IPv4 and IPv6. Having separate interfaces allows for better management of settings for each protocol independently.

Best regards,

Marijus
