we have a number of RUT955 devices, mix of new and older. new units running v7 f/w, no issue with openVPN running. the older units which support only v6 f/w the openVPN config file does not work. Same file used ont he newer unit works fine.
Also tried splitting out the cert information into the three CA, Client cert and key files but still does not work. VPN does not connect. Has anyone seen issues with openvpn on older devices?

The OpenVPN client running on firmware versions 06.xx is significantly older compared to the current versions, causing compatibility issues with newer OpenVPN clients/servers.
My advice would be to upgrade devices running firmware version 06.xx to version 07.xx. This should resolve the OpenVPN incompatibility.

I recommend upgrading these older devices because issues arising from their incompatibility due to outdated firmware could also make them prone to vulnerabilities and other malfunctions. Alternatively, you could consider using a different VPN service.
