VPN connection stability with RMS and RUT200

I have a RUT200 router with RDP access to a computer on Windows, using the RMS VPN to access this client's computer.

I'm experiencing unstable VPN access on several occasions. Whenever I try to access the RMS VPN, I receive a "VPN Hub connection failure" message.

This is causing a huge problem with this client, who requests support. When trying to access the RMS system, it doesn't connect, sometimes taking more than an hour to connect.

Any ideas on what might be happening so I can improve the stability of access for this client?

The 4G access from the local carrier is very good, and I have plenty of data on both the RMS and the carrier.

The RUT200 has the latest firmware update.

I believe the settings are correct because access sometimes works for several hours, but when disconnecting and trying to reconnect later, we always encounter the VPN Hub connection failure problem.

This has, on occasion, forced us to leave in the middle of the night to go to this client's location to provide on-site support due to a failure in accessing the RMS VPN Hub.

Could be an intermittent RMS VPN tunnel issue, not a 4G issue. The “VPN Hub connection failure” occurs: Check the RUT200 and RMS logs, especially for tunnel timeouts, authentication errors or network reconnections. Also check ntp/time settings and if the router public ip is changing. Capturing logs during the failure should help to identify root cause.

Hello @Tag7580,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Could you kindly confirm whether the issue has been resolved, or if you still require any assistance?

Best regards,
