I’m currently using my third EE UK preloaded data SIM and have 4 months left before i have to change it for a new one.
EE’s preloaded data SIM’s have gone up, enough for me to question if i should try a different network. Three have a decent coverage where i live. How do i go about switching from one SIM to the other, back and forth to test and try a Three SIM before i consider buying a 24mth+ preloaded Three data SIM.
Is it a simple thing to do?
My EE SIM’s have been data only, no sms texts or calls allowed but i’ve done both and no ones contacted me to complain and i haven’t been stopped or had my SIM cancelled at all. Does anybody know if Three’s preloaded data SIM’s are the same? Not allowed, but getting away with it!?
Set rules to switch to another SIM on weak signal, or when no connection, etc.
For SIMs, there are no difference for router if it’s data only or fully functioning SIM (data, SMS, calls). It only depends on operator, what their policy is for routers to use data only SIM or not.
For the purpose of trying / testing a Three SIM i would like to toggle between the two to see if one is better or worse than the other.
Try the Three SIM for a day or for a few hours then switch back. Manually switch back and forth randomly through the day to compare connectivity, speed and robustness of service.
A new 24mth+ data sim works out at £18 a month. A new 24mth+ Three sim works out at £4 a month. Big difference if a Three sim is as good as an EE sim.
