Use Teltonika RUT240 as a WLAN client

I need technical support to get a network connection to a RUT240 access point via WLAN from a RUT240 that is configured as a client device.

I made the configuration according to these instructions: RUTOS relay / Wi-Fi extender / repeater / bridge configuration - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Unfortunately, the devices cannot be found on the client side in the network. Is there a solution to this problem?

Hello,

If you only want to connect the RUT240 as a client to an access point, avoid using the configuration you mentioned. Instead, follow these steps for a straightforward connection:

  1. Navigate to Network → Wireless → SSIDs.
  2. Click “Scan 2.4GHz”.

3.And in the new pop-up window select the desired network and click “Join network”.

  1. Enter the necessary credentials.

Hello Marijus
Thank you for the feedback. That’s what I did with these steps. Now I can’t get access from the access point side to the LAN devices on the client side.

Hi,

Can you show/explain how are you trying to access your devices? And what is end goal of configuration you are trying to achieve?

Kind regards,

Marijus

I send a ping request from the Windows command line. I want to create a network connected via WiFi to two Teltonika RUT240 devices.

Hi,

I understand that you want to create a single network using multiple Teltonika wireless devices. I recommend configuring a Wireless Mesh instead of your current setup. You can find a configuration example for Wireless Mesh here: Wireless Mesh Configuration Example.

Best regards, Marijus

I configured the wireless mesh and it works. I can access the clients on the second Teltonika. I only have one problem: I can find the Teltonika 1, which is connected to the Internet, in the network, but I can no longer find the second Teltonika, which is not connected to the Internet, in the network. Is there a solution for this?

Hello,

Other mesh nodes should be reachable. Please go to Status → Network → Topology and press “Scan LAN”. You’ll be able to see connected devices. There you should find your other mesh node IP address.

Best regards,

Marijus
