Use of TRB142 for an alarm

I have a TRB142 as a monitor for my home burglar alarm, Alarm is triggered and I receive a text message to my phone. Alarm is reset another text message is sent. Using a $15.00 annual prepaid sim card. Works great and been in service for 2 years.

But I want more. A previous device I had more I/O unfortunately it was only 3G so I had to rebuild using the TRB142.

Currently I am only using 1 input from the alarm to the TRB. When the alarm is operating my input is high when the alarm has been reset the same input goes low.

But I want to make it possible to set the alarm remotely and if the alarm is operating turn it off.

Both functions are single shot. If it’s not possible i will settle for the remote setting and rely on the inbuilt alarm timer to stop the alarm. But if it was trigged by a door rattling in the wind it will keep triggering.

So I need to use one TRB output to set the alarm. (should be easy) But I need another output to cancel the alarm.

I can probably do it with latched relays but it would be nice if I can use the out put from the alarm input above.

So can the input / output be both at the same time?

Hi there,

In short, using a single output (or input) pin to act as both an input and an output pin is not possible.

Depending on the actual set up currently, you may be able to achieve this with a custom script, however, I’d like to note that we, Teltonika Support, are unable to provide any support with custom scripts, so this is something you will have to do on your own.

Kind regards,
M.
