Hey! So I’ve chopped the PSU off a 9v Teltonika power supply cable and soldered on a 12V decoy USB C chip/plug assembly from EBay/China.
I can now power my Teltonika device('s) using this cable from a generic USB C PD/QC certified charger, saving space/weight/bulk etc through having a universal charger that I can also use to charge phone/laptop etc. at the same time! i understand this can be managed by the QC or PD standards. This has proved the concept for me at least, it would be nice to be able to buy this as an official Teltonika product…pretty sure there would be a market for this, my colleagues using similar devices are already modifying there leads with the same plugs…hopefully this leads to something…
Ideal…having this in a range of lengths would also be good…maybe 1m, 2m and 4m??
From an environmental prospective, this could be classed as a massive green tick? Reducing the number of duplicate chargers and also a potential cost saving, (that could be passed on) as new devices could be shipped with only a USB C lead without a transformer plug? Win win…
I’m also interested in a USB-C cable for my RUTX50’s. For the moment I’m using a Teltonika PR2PD01B (4-PIN TO BARREL SOCKET ADAPTER) together with a Delock Adapter USB-C to 5.5 x 2.1 mm 90°. The Delock Adapter gives me 20V. Would prefer 12V, but my powerbank does not deliver 12V. Works good so far. So if somebody needs a cable but does not want to solder, this may be a solution.
