USB-C cable to RUTM52 router

I might also want to connect the router to a high-capacity power bank so I can use it on the go, for example in a backpack. Is there a cable that allows me to connect the router to a USB-C port on a power bank?

Good afternoon,

You would need to consider the RUTC50 Powering, and power consuption information, in accordance of the Powerbank you will be using.

Powering options : RUTC50 Powering Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Power consumption : RUTC50 Power Consumption - Teltonika Networks Wiki

We ourselves do not have such a converting cable, however if you fit the criteria of 9-50 VDC power supply unit (PSU). You would need one end to go to your Powerbank, and another end to be able to be connected to the top 2 pins, on the 4 pin power supply port on the router.

We already have a device which would fit your use case. Please see here : BAT120 – UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY

Thank you very much for the detailed response. However, I have a RUTM52 router. Is there a solution via USB-C or Power over Ethernet in this case? Alternatively, does the BAT120 have an option to be charged with a USB-C power bank?

Hi there,

The BAT120 can be powered up, or can power other devices only with the 4-pin DC connector.

You should use a proper DC voltage step-up converter cable from USB-C (5V) to the router’s DC input voltage. The BAT120 UPS fits well as a backup power source for this router but is itself charged from a DC power supply, not USB-C. Native USB-C or PoE power input options are not available on the RUTM52.

If portability and power bank usage are priority, consider sourcing a USB-C to DC step-up converter cable that meets the RUTM52’s voltage and connector specs, and verify the power bank’s output capability accordingly.
