Unknown error - Peer removed pairing information

EV Charging app on iOS does not work

It looks like my previous topic has stalled, so I’m opening this follow-up because the issue still exists.

Since my last report, I have updated both:

  • Teltonika Energy iOS app to 1.16.2

  • EVC2 charger firmware to v2.2.8

Unfortunately, the problem remains exactly the same.

After reinstalling the app or re-pairing the charger, everything works for a short period (sometimes only a few hours, at most about a day). Then the application stops connecting to the charger again and consistently shows:

“Unknown Error – Peer removed pairing information”

Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up and for testing with the latest versions of both the Teltonika Energy app (v1.16.2) and the EVC2 firmware (v2.2.8).

We understand that the issue is still occurring and appreciate the detailed description of the behavior.

The error message “Peer removed pairing information” indicates that the Bluetooth pairing information stored on either the charger or the iOS device is no longer matching, which is why re-pairing temporarily restores connectivity.

To assist our R&D team in investigating this further, could you please provide the following information:

  • iPhone model
  • iOS version
  • Charger serial number
  • Approximate date and time when the issue last occurred
  • Whether the issue occurs with a single iOS device or multiple devices

Additionally, when the problem reappears, please confirm:

  1. Whether the charger is still visible in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.
  2. Whether the charger can be rediscovered by the app before removing the existing pairing.
  3. If there are any changes to the charger’s power supply, network connection, or configuration between successful and unsuccessful connection attempts.

We will review the information with our development team and continue the investigation. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Best regards,
Džiugas

I had the same issue. Needed to delete the charger from the app and the phone BT settings and then add again. iPhone 16 pro, iOS 27.0, serial 1157995625, happened 2 times today.

Hello @ZigaTurk !

Could you let us know

    1. Whether the charger is still visible in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.

    2. Whether the charger can be rediscovered by the app before removing the existing pairing.

    3. If there are any changes to the charger’s power supply, network connection, or configuration between successful and unsuccessful connection attempts.

      Kindest regards,
      Džiugas

  1. Yes the charger is still visible in iPhone BT settings.
  2. Yes after deleting the charger that cannot connect it can be rediscover but when trying to add it it gives an error. Only after deleting the charger from the iPhone BT it can be added again.
  3. No change in power supply or network or other.

@Dziugas-Teltonika is there any progress on the topic? Its annoying to delete the charger from the app and the phone and add it every other day, was expecting it to be more stable.

Hello, @ZigaTurk,

We are currently investigating this issue and will get back to you once it has been resolved.

Kind regards,
Džiugas

Hello,

Is it possible to try these troubleshooting steps?

  • Turn off iCloud service for the app
  • Remove the station from the BT devices.
  • Removing the app whilst the station is removed from BT devices and do a clean re-install.

Kindest regards,
Džiugas
