I am unable to send SMS messages from a RUT200 using a Lyca SIM, but the RUT200 is able to receive SMS messages ok on the Lyca Sim.
If I put Lyca SIM in my iphone it sends and receives SMS messages.
If I put the O2 SIM from my iphone into the RUT200 it sends and receives SMS messages.
This has been tested using Services>Mobile Utilities>Messages.
When I try to send a SMS I get the following error ‘Failed to send message’.
System>Maintenance>Events Log shows the SMS to the Lyca SIM being received but does not show the SMS send attempt or any fault.
I’ve tried rebooting and factory reset etc.
I have spoken with Lyca support and the suggest changing the message centre number, but I cannot see how to do this.
Please log in to your device’s WebUI, navigate to Network → Mobile → Connection, and under Preferred Network Type, select 3G only or 2G only. Try to send an SMS and let me know if the issue persists.
The SMS sends ok on the LYCA sim (on EE network) if Preferred network type is set to 3G/2G auto but 2G and 3G are due to be switched off in 2025. Can this SIM be made to work in 4G with the LYCA SIM ?
