Unable to connect remotely to TRB142

First time user of the TRB142. We’re evaluating the product as a remote bridge to an RS232 device but cannot remotely connect to it.

We have fixed IP sim. Virtual port on a local machine. Good signal on the TRB142. Using a serial connection via putty (running as admin) we just get a blank screen with a green cursor.

We have tried a port monitor and can see traffic (we don’t get this when not running putty as admin).

Have been through the guides online but nothing has helped. Any assistance would be gratefully recieved.

Firstly to clarify, are you unable to remotely access the TRB142 device itself? You can find information how to access the device itself, either via RMS, or via public IP in this link : Remote Device Access - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Or do you mean that you are unable to reach end serial device connected to the TRB142? If that is the case, one of possible solutions would be Serial over IP via RMS vpn tunnel : https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Serial_OverIP_communication_between_Server_and_Client

Also, by saying fixed IP sim, do you mean that you have a public IP to be had on that sim from your ISP provider?
