Hello, I’m facing a rather frustrating issue with my RUTM10 router: very low Wi-Fi speed on the 5GHz band.
More details:
ISP speed: 1 Gbps
LAN speed tested on the RUTM10: >900 Mbps
Wi-Fi 5GHz speed test: <30 Mbps
Tested with a Samsung S22 phone and a laptop (on old router, a tplink, i was getting speeds up to 700Mbps)
Distance from the router: < 50 cm
Wi-Fi settings:
Signal strength: 100%
Channel: tested multiple channels
Software flow offloading: ON
Antennas are properly screwed in and positioned vertically.
Firstly, I recommend checking that the transmit power for the 5 GHz radio is set to 100% in the router settings. Additionally, ensure that the channel width is set to 80 MHz.
Although you’ve already tested multiple channels, interference from neighboring networks or devices could still be affecting your Wi-Fi performance. I suggest using a channel analysis (Status → Status → Wireless → Channel Analygis) or any Wi-Fi analyzer app to check for overlapping channels or congestion. Based on this data, you can manually select a less crowded channel to reduce interference.
Additionally, if you haven’t done so already, I recommend updating the router’s firmware to the latest version (without keeping the settings).
Hy Martynas,
As you say, i have the power on 100% on 80MHz… singnal power is good in other rooms, firmware is up to date, just the speed is ultra low. The speed on 5Ghz is 30Mbps at 50cm away. It… i dont have words to say… i have bigger speeds on mobile data.
Please give me more settings to test…
this is the speed test result from router speed test service.
Do you recomment to return the product? Can be a hardware problem?
Also, can be the problem be that i have 40 clients in my wifi network and the bandwith is equally diveded to all devices? There are 37 iot devices (esp32). If so, how can i limid the bandwidth for iot devices and leave more space for my phone and laptop?
I think i found a workaround solution, i have created a new ssid for my phone and laptop and then i used SQM to lower the speed on IoT network to 100Mbs, in this way, i have managed to get speeds up to 200Mbs on my laptop and Phone.
I dont like it that now i have two SSID in my house but if Teltonika not find a better solution… even my low price TPLink was better on this… hope you guys comem with a better solution, i trust you.
