Hi I have a problem or need assistance in setting up the RS485. I have two inverters on RS485 and a meter on RS485 that I’m connected to the TTK-RUT906 on RS485 and set it up with serial to server as the router is connected via LAN to a point to point and connected again to another RUT906 and back on RS485 back to the logger that’s connected to RS485.
I want to know as where I bought it said it can work like that but need to know on the router the setup ro make them talk to each other to Transmit data as a local network so using them as a converter and not using the LTE function.
Hello,
Assuming from your description, the most suitable way to achieve this setup would likely be by using the Serial over IP functionality on both routers. This allows RS485 devices on different ends of the network to communicate as if they were on the same local serial bus.
However, to better understand and guide with this setup, could you please clarify a couple of points about your topology and communication requirements:
- How exactly is the data communication between the inverters and the meter intended to work?
- Should the devices communicate exclusively over the LAN, or is it required for the data to go over the Internet (WAN)?
Additionally, here are a few similar configuration guides/examples or wiki, that might come handy or be useful for your use case:
