TSW202 switch PoE does not works

Hello,
I use with TSW202 power supply unit ( switching adapter) with 220 VAC , 15 A max input and output 53VDC, 1.8 A, 90 Watt.
I connect WiFi Access Point with PoE 802.11af/at to switch TSW202 PoE out.
But AP is not powered on and link is down.
TSW202 stat shows that it’s port PoE up, and that AP consumes only 2-3 Watt. Normal AP power consumption is up to 15Watt.
Is it something wrong with switch power supply? It works with other PoE switch without problem.

Hello,

Does it not work for that one port, or do other ports produce the same result? Have you tried testing another 802.11af/at device with the TSW202? What are the results?

Best regards,

I have tried various switch ports and two AP 802.11ax PoE 802.3at (Netgear, Cambium). Result is the same , AP even is not powered on. It seems PoE 802.3at negotiation does not work.

Hello,

The TSW202 switch uses the 802.3at Alternative B standard. In rare cases, your access points (APs) might not support power delivery on the pairs used by Alternative B and therefore cannot negotiate power. Please check if your specific APs use this standard. Also, try switching the cables, as they might be faulty.

Best regards,

I use AP with standard 802.3 at, both are USA brand.
I will check (measure) what pairs TSW 202 transmit power, Volt and Amper. Thank you.

Hello, I have the same problem. I have a “Alternative A” device that I want to connect to the TSW202. Is there a way to convert from “Alternative A” to “Alternative B” or do I need to buy another switch? Does Teltonika provide “Alternative A” switches?
Regards
Mike

Hi,

If you need to convert “Alternative A” to “Alternative B,” you can look for a converter. However, if you need to use more than one port, I recommend finding a switch that supports “Alternative A.” Currently, Teltonika does not offer a switch that supports 802.3at Alternative A.

Best regards,
