Hi everyone,
I’m an integrator working with transit systems, and we are currently facing a critical issue with TSW101 switches getting completely frozen/stuck upon vehicle startup. I have attached a video of the exact behavior.
The Symptoms: As seen in the video, all occupied port LEDs blink synchronously in a repetitive rhythm. The switch is completely unresponsive and requires a hard power cycle to recover. It looks like it’s constantly tripping a PoE protection circuit or caught in a boot loop.
The Environment:
-
Vehicles: Mostly trolleybuses, but occasionally standard buses too.
-
Devices connected: Axis PoE cameras and Iris APC sensors (connected to an Iris recorder).
What we have already tried (without success):
-
Delaying the startup: We installed a time-delay relay (waiting 15-30 seconds after the ignition) to avoid the initial engine/network brownout. It didn’t help.
-
Different manufacturer: We swapped the Teltonika for a Rosho 8s switch to rule out a bad batch, but the Rosho switch ends up doing the exact same flashing/freezing.
Has anyone in the transit/automotive sector encountered this exact synchronous flashing before? Any advice on firmware tweaks, grounding practices, or specific PoE settings to prevent this would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, as a new user, I cannot attach files directly to this post. However, I have a video showing the exact behavior and I would be happy to send it via direct message or email to anyone willing to help.
