I wanted to share our experience and see if anyone else is seeing similar behavior with the TSW202 switches. We have more 10 units of TSW 202.
Background:
We previously sent two TSW202 units to Teltonika for analysis after PoE stopped working. Their findings showed a damaged PoE chip on one switch, attributed to suspected excessive surge discharges on the Ethernet ports. The other switch was fine after testing. Both were repaired and returned to us.
Current Situation:
Despite those repairs, we now have two more switches showing the same type of failure.
Is anyone else experiencing repeated PoE failures or similar damage with TSW202 switches? Any patterns or contributing factors you’ve observed would be helpful to know.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your experience with TSW202 switches.
May I ask in what type of environment (higher humidity, exposure to surges, or other environmental conditions) these TSW202 switches are being used?
Additionally, please ensure that the firmware on all units is up to date (FW version 1.06.2), as one of the previous updates included a fix addressing PoE port power-up failures under high PoE usage scenarios.
If these types of PoE failures continue to occur, consider sending the affected units in for RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) so they can be properly inspected and repaired if necessary.
Should you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Yes, I am also seeing a high failure rate for PoE on the TSW 202 switches. Have not been able to pin point any specific cause for this.
Hello @ab12cd34fg,
Could you please let us know how you proceeded with these PoE failures? For example, have you already returned the affected devices through RMA?
Additionally, are there any visible signs of damage on the TSW202 units themselves, such as burnt or damaged components on the PCB?
Best regards,
