Trying to ping command my router

Hi!, I’m using the TRB245 router and I’ve been trying the ping comand for remote acces, but every time I try it it gives me ‘request timed out’. How can I solve it?
Thanks

Hello,

Would it be possible for you to provide more information about the issue?

What devices are you pinging and what are their IP addresses? From what devices are you trying to ping? How are the devices connected?

Kind Regards,

Hi, I’m trying to ping a router TRB245 which has a sim target with ip 10.85.68.170 (that’s the one im using to ping) with my pc which has the ip 192.168.1.46. The devices are not connected physically, both have internet access.
Thanks!

Hello,

The IP address on the mobile interface of your TRB245 is 10.x.x.x, which means that this is a private IP address and thus, you cannot reach your device over the internet. Private IP addresses cannot be routed over the internet. To reach your TRB245, you will need a public IP address on your SIM card. You will need to contact your provider and ask if it is possible to get a public IP address. In some cases, operators may provide you with a specific APN. Once you have the APN, you can configure it in Network → Interfaces → Edit mob1s1a1 interface → Disable Auto-APN and enter your custom APN.

Kind Regards,
