Solution found → I have used the SMS utilities together with a custom script to be executed → ubus call modbus_client.rpc tcp.test.. to write a register within the server
Thanks anyway and I wish you all a good day ![]()
Greetings, MarBer,
Thank you for your message.
I’m glad to hear that you found a solution for your use case! There’s also another way to configure these settings, and I’ll share the steps below so other community members can benefit from them in the future.
You can use UCI API tool to achieve the same results. UCI commands provide the user with the maximum degree of control since they can be issued via many different forms of router monitoring and administration (SSH, CLI, SMS, JSON-RPC) and can be used to set or get any router parameter.
To configure SMS Utilities, go to Services → Mobile Utilities → SMS Utilities. and follow these steps:
After clicking Add, a new window will appear with additional settings and a description of the rule. Make sure to enable the rule. You will also see examples of how to format SMS messages correctly.
The text entered in the SMS text field will replace the UCI command in your message.
You can find more information about UCI commands and their syntax here:

For details about Modbus parameters, refer to this article:
Once the rule is configured, you can send an SMS to the router to set the register to your desired value.
If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’ll be more than happy to assist further!
Kind regards,
V.
