TRB500 crashes in the middle of operation

TRB500 runs for one or two days and suddenly three LED’s are blinking and nothing works anymore. It is also no longer possible to log in via the browser or SSH. After unplugging and re-plugging the power cable it works again. This happens very often.

Hello,

Could you please check your device’s firmware version? If it’s outdated, update it to the latest version and try monitoring your device again.

Best regards,

I am already using the latest version 07.07.3

Hello,

Is the device reachable by other means? Can you ping it? If you are using RMS, is it reachable through RMS? Does the device have any specific configuration that might use excessive RAM?

Please go to System → Maintenance → Event logs and check for any unusual logs. It would be helpful if you could copy the most recent logs.

Best regards,

I use path true, I have turned off rms. No, because of the usage I need less ram.

I don’t know if the device would have been pingable from the LAN when it hangs.

After it stopped working I connected my notebook, you can see it in the log.

It looks to me like the GSM was interrupted and the modem then froze instead of reconnecting. see log.

Hello,

You mentioned that the current operation needs more RAM, which is why you turned off RMS. Can you explain what this operation is? Could it be causing mobile disconnection issues?

Best regards,

I only need the TRB500 for passthrough and probably need less ram

I have now monitored the trb500, next time we will know what happened

It’s happened again. I’ve now collected all the data. The trb500 ran for 10 days without any problems and then suddenly the connection stopped working. The CPU suddenly had 100% load. see cpu monitoring and system status. At this time the trb500 had little internet load. see traffic monitor. The top monitor shows that the ipacm process was using 95% of the cpu. see top process. Normally it uses around 3% of the cpu. see top process. The WAN status was only with one connection instead of four. Restarting the connection didn’t help either. I then downloaded the troubleshoot file. Then I restarted the TRB500 so that it was usable again. I would be very grateful if you could fix the problem.

Best Regards Tom

Hello,

I had the device replaced (RMA) and have been using the latest version for a few days. It hasn’t crashed yet, but it hasn’t been in continuous use. I’ll keep an eye on it. I’ll give feedback in a week at the latest.

Regards Thomas
