We have a TRB500 5G gateway running TRB500_R_00.07.08.2 software.
It is rebooted daily at 04:04 by schedule because our ISP changes the IP address after being connected for 24 hours, and we do not want that to happen during business hours.
Today, at 15:45 so after about 11 hours of uptime and about 2GB of transferred data, suddenly it did not want to send big packets anymore. A ping with 200 byte packets still worked with some packet loss, larger pings (like 1200 bytes) completely failed.
It is a remote installation (for me) and it has a router behind it that sets up a VPN to our head office and that has a port forward to allow access to the web interface from here, but that both did not work anymore due to the issue.
I was able to reboot the TRB500 remotely using SMS and everything came back as normal.
Is there some known issue with e.g. memory leak or buffer management problem that could cause this?
Thank you for the reply.
In the meantime I had already upgraded to 7.09.4 and have not yet seen the issue again, however the router was used for about a month and that had not happened yet.
I will do another upgrade as soon as it is possible without disturbing the users.
I already found another improvement which I cannot relate to any changelog entry, but it still is good: we use between 2 and 4 GB per day and until now the usage was shown as very little. Possibly an overflow of 32-bit numbers used for traffic bookkeeping. With 7.09.4 we finally see realistic figures, I presume that this has been fixed?
